The North Country Trail (NCT) connects America’s red plaid nation, wandering 4600 miles through America’s rugged northern heartlands. Stretching across seven states, this longest National Scenic Trail is brought to local communities through the dedication and hard work of volunteers. From New York to North Dakota, North Country Trail hikers can find adventure right nearby.

Mushroom hunting and the science of mycology provide a fun outdoor activity for individuals and families alike. Michigan is resplendent in the varieties of fungi that can be found in our abundant forests and fields but one needs to know what to look for; not only that, just when and where to look is important too.
The Michigan Mushroom Hunters Club (MMHC) provides opportunities for amateur and experienced mushroom hunters to commune both with nature and with others who share an interest in and appreciation for nature’s bounty. Whether it is discovering a new culinary delight, getting out in the great outdoors, or simply enjoying the company of others, we think that your membership in and participation with MMHC will prove to be one of great benefit.

Outdoor Beginnings is a social network started by Sue Tabor in October of 2009.  Sue is an avid outdoor woman and enjoys volunteering and sharing her passion with others for anything outdoors!

Sue discovered her love for the outdoors when her grandfather invited her to come along as a child, on fishing and small game hunting outings.  Her father was very active with the Boy Scouts of America for many years and she recalls several times when she was invited to join her dad and two older brothers on scouting family camping weekends and other adventures.   Years later, camping in a tent became the favorite annual summer vacation for her own family.

“Women are discovering that getting outside is not only good for the body, but it’s good for the mind as well.   Whether you want to hunt with a shotgun or a digital camera, camp near a pristine lake, paddle down a lazy river, or take a hike in the forest, viewing wildlife and exploring our beautiful natural resources is like a spa for your soul.”

Go ahead!  Discover the outdoors in you!

You have reached the homepage of the Michigan Geocaching Organization (MiGO). The purpose of our organization is to promote the sport of Geocaching in Michigan via improved communications and to provide information to the public about our activities and the sport of geocaching. Please spend some time on our site. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us or visit www.geocaching.com for more details.

Join MiGO Today! Our free membership gives you many benefits. MiGO is one of the oldest and most respected Geocaching organizations in the country. Since our inception in April, 2002 we have grown both in size and stature. In 2007 we were granted an organizational land use permit by the Michigan DNR. This permit is paid annually by MiGO and enables all our members to place caches on permitted DNR lands at no fee. This is just one of the many benefits of your free membership. You’ll also become part of a local and tight-knit Geocaching community with an active interest in caching in our state. Our forums are very active and are a great place to meet cachers and learn.
